The farm has a long history dating back to the original acquisition deeded as a land grant in 1794. The original farm house built around 1821 has undergone several major renovations and additions. the house now contains 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (1 guest suite with full kitchen) 3 family rooms, a game room, 4 screened in decks and a wrap around porch. Also, there are 3 wood burning stoves and a large country kitchen. All bedrooms have independent air-conditioning, . The central family room is highlighted by a 15 foot cathedral ceiling and a 6x8 picture window that overlooks the two farm ponds.
The farm contains a two story guest house with two bedrooms. The original 30x40 bank barn has recently been converted into a house. Other outbuildings include the original bake oven, a two seat outhouse, a 16 stall horse barn, a cattle barn, a chicken house and a 12x12 two story play house with a wrap around deck.
Farm animals include rare Peruvian Paso horses, Arabian horses, Hereford cattle, peacocks and some chickens, ducks and geese. There are two ponds in front of the farm which have been stocked with bluegill and catfish. A two seat paddle boat is available for our guests.
Our latest endeavor has been the addition of a Japanese Koi (goldfish) pond and water garden. The comforting sounds of the water fountain make this an ideal summer afternoon spot to unwind and enjoy a refreshing glass of ice tea.
At Heather Hill Bed & Breakfast Inn our guests will enjoy the aroma and taste of our freshly brewed specialty coffees and delight in a hearty country breakfast. The typical meal items may include eggs (in a variety of styles), bacon, sausage, pancakes, fruit, juice, tea, toast with jelly or jam.
